about me

I took my first yoga class back in 2006 at a YMCA in Rochester, Minnesota. At the time I was serving in AmeriCorps (which is kind of like the Peace Corps only you serve in domestic communities) and I was broke as a joke. The YMCA gave AmeriCorps members free passes and I decided to check out some of their classes and one of those just happened to be yoga. I was immediately hooked. Since then I have practiced many different kinds of yoga in many different places around this country and around the world.

In 2014 I received my 200 hour certification and became a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT).   My classes vary from vinyasa, to gentle & restorative, and yin.

Over these past 12 years yoga has meant so many things to me. It has helped me manage anxiety, brought me a sense of spirituality I had been seeking and helped me find community wherever I was at. As an instructor I use meditation, pranayama, asana, music and some humor to lead students through a class that will have them leave feeling fresh and renewed.
